Subject:Re: Newbie question about auxiliary power-Battery suppliers

Given a choice I to prefer to support smaller stores or service oriented
suppliers as compared to big box places. There is a definite value to these
places. I just wanted to clarify that just because you pay more does not
mean you are getting any better product. There are only a few battery
manufacturers left. Many of the known brands are simply marketers. Some may
not even use the same supplier year after year.

Dunno about the quality of the batteries themselves but there are NAPA
parts stores everywhere. Most very small towns even have them, so should
you need warranty or diagnostics with a NAPA battery you can get it.

The Wal Marts I have been to mostly haven't had any 'service' dept. for
stuff like autoparts. I have always found fairly good knowledge and
helpful service at the NAPA stores I've dealt with....some in really
'obscure' towns.. Wal Mart is probably cheaper..
