A big thanks to David Beierl for his advice with my water pump issues, and to Craig for offering to give advice, and to anyone else who chimed in here trying to help. I've got it mostly sorted out with a spare set-up, and the van is back together. Down the road I'll try to get out my one stuck and one broken bolt. For now I just  want to drive the van again- it's been in my garage since the middle of August!
