if you are missing the springy clip that is secured to the lower part of the
lower cover..
look for it on the steering column. It's what holds up the lower part to the
steering column.
it's usually there..sitting on the steering column.
the way it's fastened to the lower cover is dumb...it's like secured in
plastic ..
and that junction falls apart, but is easily replaced with a small screw and
nut.

and longer ( and maybe slightly larger ) screws at the top help too.

Sometimes I get the impression that the art of 'actually *repairing*
things' is just GONE.

Subject: Steering column shell

I wrote eariler about needing the steering column shell (Top and bottom) for
my 1987 2-wd van. I haven't seen my post so, thought it might have made it
into ciber space lol. I need a black one.

If anyone has this I would sure be interested in buy it. Mine is all cracked
and of course this is no longer availble.

Thanks,

Chris
