My '82 westy didn't have one, but I found one on a later year vanagon at wreckers. Was on line right beside radiator. I put it in my van. Seemed to help. But... I haven't seen one on my '86 (might be hidden somewhere though) and the washer liquid comes out right away, no delay. alistair On 2-Nov-10, at 2:35 PM, Karl Wolz wrote: Scott, et al, I replaced my windshield washer pump a while back, and now have little flow (maybe 3 - 4"?), and have to wait the better part of a minute to get that. Questions 1 - is there a check valve in the line, or does the pump itself act as a check valve? Question 2 - I have replaced the original ground wire and grounded the pump to the frame, using one of the washer bottle bolts. Could this be problematical so far as current getting to the motor?
