OK, quick DUMB question (I hope):

How do I remove the diff lock knob? I figured it'd just pull or twist
off, but that doesn't seem to be working. (pull harder?) I removed the
plastic cap, and saw the rubber part of the knob was held on with
those weird rubber stalks. Pushed those through which released the
rubber from the knob, but don't see any way to remove the end of the
knob.

Help appreciated.
