Subject:Sliding door adjustment

Hi folks:

I have a question about adjusting the sliding door on an 89 vanagon westy. The rear of my sliding door is low and also does not sit flush with the main body of the van. I was reading through the Bentley 58:16 and 58:17 and having a little difficulty understanding the procedure for adjustment. Does one adjust the striker plate or hinge or both? Is this a two-person job or can one person do it? If the striker plate needs to be adjusted, it appears that there are some very large Phillips head screws there, are those #2 or #3 heads. I'm guessing I would have to find something to put on the impact wrench to loosen them based on my experience with the rear hatch. Those suckers would not move!

Thanks,
Troy
