Hi, A good friend of mine is suffering from ALS and is now confined to a wheel chair and communicates through a keyboard device. His ability to be able to travel about is difficult, even though he and his wife own an old Plymouth Voyager van. The van is not equipped so that he can drive his wheel chair into the van, so he has to be manually lifted into his seat in the van and then the chair (motorized with joy stick control) has to be manually lifted into the Voyager. I seem to remember that in the late 80s and through the 90s VW sold Vanagons and Eurovans which were able to lift the chair and its occupant on board into the center area of the van. Does anyone know of one that might be available, preferably on the East Coast or Northeast part of the US? My friend and his wife are somewhat strapped for cash because of his condition, and so I'm thinking that a VW van is something that I could work on, etc. to help save them some $$$. Thanks in advance...
