Just got a chance to watch the Stage 13 through the Vosges Mountains. I was out camping in Vertmontat West River Westies over the weekend. Lots of Vanagon Westy lining theroads. There were 4 or 5 in a row near the Col du Platzerwasel ( the second big climb) in the rain. Obviously a French VW Van group or club. Anyone on the List?? I have personally climbed, during a bigeuro-tour on my DellaSanta, the Col de la Schuchtand Platzerwasel to vacation in one of the many Auberges around the Munster Valley. My relatives are from this part of Alsace whereall the wine is good and the munster cheese has that unique smell. Wild blueberries grow on all of these mountains, easily filling buckets at a time. This is a great place to vacation in the summer time. Or in the fall to sample the vin-nouveau fromAlsace. Joel Cort Rochester NY. 2008 Specialized Roubaix 2007 Specialized StumpJumper 1977 DelaSanta (Reynolds 531 & Campagnolo equiped) 89 Syncro Westy (CinnabarVan) 87 Syncro Transporter (Stella) 73 Westy Campmobile (agent orange) Founding Member of the Empire VW Camping Club & Westies at Watkins - www.westies-at-watkins.org
