RE: Synthetics in Seattle I went to Mobil 1 15/50 at about 110,000 on my 2.1L engine (149,000 now) about five years ago with no leaks developing. Also went to synthetic in the auto tranny about that time and do have a little seepage but I don't attribute it to the fluid.
