My '81 needs a new gas tank, so I got one.  Looking
inside, I see that the fuel pickup tube appears to
not be connected or soldered correctly.  Here's what
I see:

This is the pickup, shot through the filler hole.
In the back you can see the return which looks OK.

Is this, indeed, a defective tank?
