Hi all finally decided to take the plung and build up my 1st water box. have plenty of type 1 builds under my belt but not in the know on the 1.9L little things. so here are a few of my 1st (probably in a series of) Question 1) are the type 1 and 1.9L rod bearings the same?? or are they the same as type 4? or 1.9L special? ( to me they look like type 1) 2) if i have a rod Journal size of 2.145 am i going to need a .25mm or .50mm bearing for that rod?? 3) what is the best way to clean the case? Dishwasher? (in my single days maybe, but now i choose life), solvent tank that i have, hose and water, or steam clean professional or and lastley chemical dip? Btw the crank, rods, pistons, flywheel and any thing else that moves have been fully balanced by a professional engine builder. rods rebushed and sized. crank polished, flywheel ground. thanks for your help Jonce Jonce Fancher 57 Single Cab 66 Sunroof Bug 66 Variant Squareback 71 Sunroof Bus 75 911S Sunroof 84 Vanagon "Godfried" 85 Vanagon Westi 2003 10 Passenger Sprinter Fancher's Upholstery Inc. - www.fanchers.com Not-A-VW Club- http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jaransont3/notavwclub/
