If there is ever a last word on anything on this list, I figure it would be gasoline. It sure isn't oil or tires! So is there a consensus on the correct octane rating for the vanagon? Specifically a 2.1. I have always run high-test in it because when a car is doing well you hate to change. And years ago I was driving to texas in a 69 aircooled in really hot weather, and burned a piston running low-test, so I've just been spooked ever since. What should I really be running, though? Thanks, Jim
