My speedo gears make noise.  It started a
couple of years ago when very cold and worked
up to grinding always.  I talked with a guy
at Palo Alto Speedometer who said the cable
stretches and puts pressure on the speedo.
The speedo can be repaired--mine is out there
right now.  He said I should replace the cable
or it would do it to the speedo again.
