I'm thanking I don't have much to loose. Has anybody tried adjusting the
band screws without pulling the tranny?
  The manual states the bands MAY jam if not horizontal. Let's say they
don't jam, would that help a tranny slipping in 2nd gear.
Maybe turn the van on its side. I'm sure I could turn a corner fast
enough. Anybody got any tricks to get it back up?
