I got no response to this post a few days ago. Anybody have any ideas where to begin on this? I am trying to track down the cause of my high idle speed. Once the engine gets warm, the idle stays at a steady 1800rpms. This did not happen before the engine swap. Observations: Two things that were repaired at swap time were A/C and power steering, (both previously out of service for many years) and my mechanic said that either of these might have some effect, as the cpu boosts idle to compensate for increased load. Is there some mechanism for the a/c or p/s to communivaste with the cpu? There is only one wire coming off of the a/c compressor, and there is a second contact that looks like it wants a wire on it. Additionally, the oxygen sensor is not connected, can't find a wire that I can plug it into. It has a female spade bit connector on a thin brown wire. There is a (12 guage?) green wire, about 4 inches long with a female spade bit connector coming out of the wiring harness near the control unit. Is this the oxy sensor wire? Should there be some kind of additional connector or something? The idle stablizer was bypassed when I got the van back, reconnecting it has made no observable difference in the way the van runs at all. As always, any help appreciated. Peter & Zippy
