These sensors tend to crack causing the condition you describe.

Subject: coolant level sensor

Not enough to do today, I guess...
Poking around in the engine compartment... always a way to get busy :)

Anyway, I pulled the connector plug on the top of the coolant level sensor
and the contacts inside the connector were wet... with coolant I assume. The
rest of the top of the sensor was dry... just the inside of the connector
plug was wet...

So... does this mean replace the coolant level sensor?
Not sure how it could be leaking into the connector since the sensor seems
to be an extruded, one piece item... unless the coolant follows the metal
prongs up through the plastic to the connector part...

Being that the contacts are wet inside the connector seems like this would
create continuity between the contacts, thus giving a 'coolant full' reading
even if the tank were empty... no?

Please advise...
Thanks,
Bill
