Fellow Subie Transplanters: I have just ordered the KEP exhaust header for my Subaru engine installed in our '86 Syncro Double Cab pickup. I intend to use the standard VW Cat and Muffler with this header. I understand that the Cat and Muffler assembly should be mounted on the engine to avoid breaking the header (just like the VW engine setup). Has anyone done this? How did you avoid frying the plastic timing belt cover and alternator pulley belt? How did you fasten the Cat and Muffler to the engine? Alternatively, what are your thoughts on hanging the Cat and Muffler from the body and using a flexible exhaust pipe section between the Cat and Header? -Larry
