Furnace and modified table leg |
by Mike Curran
For more comfort when we travel in fall, winter and spring, we installed a Hydroflame furnance as shown and described in the rear cupboard doors. The rear table leg was then cut and the mount relocated to the bottom of the upper storage locker (which is still original depth).
We used the cutoff end as another table mounted near the sliding door by attaching a copper pipe coupling and mounting it below the arm rest on the bench seat. We also got another front table mount and put it behind the passenger's set to allow more flexibility with the front table - this also serves as the mount for the shorter leg when travelling, which is great for attaching and securing cargo (the photo also shows the older Westfalia box we have recovered for use as a pots and pans locker in the newer Westy).
