Hi Jeff,

I also used the Fat Matt product. I think I got a very large amount and I did more then is needed. But, the results are great. I did this to my 84 and 85. The 84 most recently and it made a big difference.

There are other products called something like Mass loaded nvinyl but I was not successful in learning about the products. The Fat Matt will help with road vibration and dampon sound. The Mass Loaded vinyl is designed to actually keep road and all sounds out.

For the fat Matt, For real improvement,I’d do the doors as mentioned but I would also do the floor of the front cabin basically anywhere the carpet will hide it. Also on the front of the cabin where the front comes up and as much under the nose as I could reach. I did between the seats, the pedestals, and under the driver seat. My 84 became so quiet that I had to add a tach because folks could no longer hear the motor well enough to tell they should shift.
I also did all other panels except behind the kitchen.
When windows are up it is pretty darn reasonable and it is easy to hear those traveling with you or the music.

I hope this helps.

And, if there are any mass loaded Vinyl experts out there or folks that have a source of more reasonably priced Mass loaded vinyl products please chime in.
