Please read your policy thoroughly and see exactly what is what -
Last incident I had I (VW iD4) I read my policy and found my
secondary insurance not only covered 2/3 of the deductible it also gave me
another 3 weeks rental car and a few incremental details - I had to pay
first and once presented with receipts the secondary insurance paid by
eTransfer within a couple of days -
Read your policy and see what exactly is on the table and where you stand -
