Pop the tie rod from knuckle.  No need to unscrew ball joint 

You can get old and then new boot over the ball joint

You’ll see rubber grommet at distal end of tie rod. Keep that in location when putting on new

Boot at rack end can be a bear to get on.  Curved pick can help
