The only major modification is the mid-engine Audi V6 tiptronik,
unfortunately with all the implied consequences: 4disc brakes,
instrument cluster, shifter.

Other than that, only cosmetic, convenience or HiFi: Power everything,
only stock Vanagon parts.
Well, the window motors are now from GreatBritain, because the stock
ones were stuck in rust. And power lock motors have been replaced with
China-copies
