Subject:Cleaning stain from alloy wheels
From:David M <covrambles@YAHOO.COM>

One of my original Vanagon 14" alloy wheels has black staining around the edges. None of my other wheels have this so I think this is from storing this particular wheel in the spare wheel compartment.Does anyone have advice for cleaning the stain off?
I don't know what the stain consists of.I've tried spray wheel cleaner, dishwash liquid and even Comet bleach powder. The dishwash liquid seemed to work best, but the stain is still sticking in the corners where the wheel meets the rim edge.I've been scrubbing away on and off for three days using various tools from scouring pads to old toothbrushes. There has to be an easier way (I hope).
