Hi John,

        If you have a person with good dexterity  and the right shaped hands and arms you could do the cross over and grommets.  But it will not be easy and you have the chance of loosing the old grommets into the tank.  And, as you know I learned that grommets in the tank will block the screen for outflow.

Frankly I think this job is best don by planning to partly drop the tank.  Remove and clean what needs to be done. And then move partly back up.  Finish the cross over and other connections then put up in place. 

Dawn Soap was my friend for putting in the grommets. 

I did my tank swap with just the front on jack stands.  But to change the hoses and do the refresh I think I could do it without a full drop as Bob described. 

One of the tricky parts was removing the filler neck.

I’m lucky that Dennis mentioned it and told me how to remove the side piece and pull out the filler tube.
