I had the problem on my '88. Tried everything. Ultimately had to replace
the locking mechanism. As it turned out, the original had a tendency to do
this because of wear over time. The replacement was an updated version
to fix the problem.. Once installed, I never again had problems with the
door popping open. As IRC, the lock came from Van Cafe. Others may have it.
