This could be out of the dumb question bank, but I don’t have a fridge so if so I’ll plead ignorance over stupidity …
Can this be solved by just putting a simple switch in the power line to the fridge so you can switch it off when you don’t want it to run?  Seems like that temp sensor can go wild and the fan won’t run if there ain’t no electrons.  ??

Yes, That is what I was taught on this list several years ago.  For me it has never happened to my knowledge.  I live in Vermont.  Still the sun can hit the van in the summer and it could happen.

I have a house battery so that could go dead but the start battery would not.

I wish it was not wired that way but not something I’m going to worry about.

        In Alabama it is a bigger problem.
