Subject:Re: More ID Buzz articles

Personally, I was disappointed at first....but the ID Buzz is starting to grow on me.  I can understand a lot of why they made the decisions they did.  Mostly focused on grasping biggest market share.  I think they understand that the "camper" segment will be a small one, and being taken over by Sprinters, Rams, and Transits.  Still....nothing like being able to park your van in your garage.

But I could sure see it as a Cargo Van for plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, delivery guys.  I could see it as a Soccer Mom van.  The range....yeah...not enough for now but who knows what the proliferation of charging stations will be in the future.
Right....I think a bare bones base price of something like $45K.  Quickly rising to $60K.  Camper version....probably north of $75K.
VW is making an incredible gamble on this one.  I'm sure they have done lots of homework.  We'll see.  Let's all be pleasantly surprised!

Rat, I think both your figures are very wishful thinking.  Given the
combination of what is happening in the auto market, the passion for
electric that is developing, VW nostalgia (can you say "bus?") and
corporate greed, I'd say closer to $80K.

after having said all that, I want one with camper features (haven't seen
that mentioned), 500 mile range, and ability to go off grid for days.
Yeah, right.
