Well that wasn’t that hard at all.
After checking the relays ( was easy, why not) I pulled switch assembly off.

Yes, it was a switch. Was the combo front wash, rear wash contacts.

I’ll post a pic on the blog soon, but shirt story is that depressing the stalk, or pulling back on it, switches between front wash and rear wash ( and wipe).

Neutral position between two contacts, yeah it’s hard to picture.

But the two contacts were , in this case, both touching the central “selector” contact. Thus energizing both rear and front wash wipe constantly.

You know how in these type switch assemblies you have the brass power trace held in position by the plastic housing. I guess the grip is weak in this spot.

Bent, moved, pressed, things back to normal and wipers work as they should.
