My take on that is:
"if guide is plastic, do not grease"
Image of 2wd sleeve parts also shows two pieces and looks the same as
Syncro parts.
To my eye, in a way, the image of 2wd parts is a bit clearer, But I
think I see what you might mean. The Syncro diagram kind of makes it
look like there's a flange, separate tube, (guide) then flange bolts
secure to.
