Subject:Slider window catch info

Hi folks,

So, years ago this list helped me tighten up my slider door window catch. Today I went to address it again as it is loose.

I took off the inner part using a nifty bent flat head screw driver I got from a free box a few years ago. It was perfect for the job. It is set up so the flat heads are in different orientation and bus works with the window.

But, when I exposed the two screws holding the catch to the window I found they could not be tightened enough to stop movement.

I plan to cut a rubber gasket to shim up the old one. I’m guessing it has lost some thickness over time.

The outer piece easily came out. It looks like there might have been some type of adhesive there at one time.

Anyone have some recommendations for me on re assembly so that it will tighten and have a good seal?

Just checking in as just putting in the rubber shim is all I currently plan to do. I am not sure about an outer gasket or .
sealant.

Tips appreciated.

Eric Caron
