Dan,
I repaired the ears in my 82 van with PL premium polyurethane construction adhesive. I was fooling around with water rockets at the time and was using that stuff to glue fins on pop bottles. Was one of the few common adhesives that did work on the plastic bottomless good enough.
It sure did work for the ears of the reservoir
