Minimalist approach. Mine has been tied more or less in position with zip ties for years. As you said, it works, it’s just broken.

Subject: Broken Hall Sender
The hall ender on my '91 Carat distributor is broken. It works, but the
plastic part that sticks out of the distributor is broken. This is going to
lead to trouble. Has anyone any ideas as to how to fix this? I don't want
to buy a new distributor or replace the Hall Sender. Very pricey!
